Library Services
Book Drop
When the Library is closed you may return materials you have borrowed in the book drop for your convenience. Please be aware that materials returned the day they are due after the Library is closed are considered late and late fees will be applied to your Library account.
Charging Station
Our charging station is located right across from our adult public computers. It sterilizes your device while it charges as well. You select which locker you'd like to put your device into (phones or tablets), create a PIN number, connect your device inside the locker, close it (it will turn red) and then put the PIN number in again once you are ready to retrieve it. See a staff member if you need assistance.
Fax/Scan Station
Our Scan to Email/USB station is located across from our adult public computers on the main floor. Our fax machine is located behind the Circulation Desk. It costs $1 per page to fax. You will receive a confirmation page once your fax is completed. Our color copy machine (located closest to the elevator) can also fax for $1 per page and will accept credit cards. Please see a staff member for assistance or follow the instructions located next to the machine.
Interlibrary Loan
If we do not own an item that you are looking for, we may be able to borrow it from another library for you. You may request items on your own via the catalog from a library in Suffolk County or from Nassau County as an "INN Reach" hold. You may also request a librarian place a hold on an item for you by phone or in-person.
Mobile Printing
With our new MobilePrint Service™, you can use your personal computer or mobile device to print to the library’s printers from anywhere. Simply submit documents for printing and come to the library to release and pick up your document. Print jobs stay in the queue for two hours. Color prints cost 25 cents per page and black and white prints are 10 cents a page.
You can also print from your mobile phone/tablet on our color photocopy machine (located next to the elevator on the main floor). Instructions are located next to the photocopy machine. Please see a staff member if assistance is needed.
Pool Collection/Book Club in a Bag
The SCLS Pool Collection is a group of 600 book titles, consisting of 15 or 20 paperback copies of each title available for borrowing from SCLS for book discussion groups. Any book discussion group can borrow these sets of books by requesting them from their public libraries. These books circulate as sets.
Photocopying Machines
There is 1 color photocopying machine and 1 black and white photocopier located in the lobby. One black and white photocopier is also located in the basement. Color copies are 25 cents and black white copies are 10 cents. All copiers can handle doubled-sided and legal copies.
Public Computers
Patrons have access to the Library's 16 public computers (12 Adult Reference computers and 4 Children's Department computers). The computers include: Internet access, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and databases subscribed to from the Library. Printing is available: the first 10 copies are free! Anything after that is 10 cents a page for black & white copies and 25 cents a page for color copies. Headphones and flash drives are available for purchase at the Circulation Desk.
Wi-Fi
Patrons have access to the Library's free wireless connection. Please ask for assistance at the Reference Desk.
