DESCRIPTION:Come with us to New York Botanical Garden to channel the spiri
 t of the ’60s at Flower Power, a joyous celebration of the enduring symb
 olism of flowers as icons of peace and love. Immerse yourself in a groovy 
 and colorful flower show spotlighting the ways in which hippie culture adv
 anced closer relationships with the natural world, and explore vibrant bot
 anical displays. NYBG’s galleries will showcase photography and visual a
 rt from the 1960s, while installations on grounds invite all of us to “c
 ome together” and be empowered to embrace flowers as symbols in our own 
 lives. After our guided tour and walking the grounds on your own, we’ll 
 head over to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx (also known as “Little Italy”)
  for lunch on your own plus shopping at the various shops nearby. We’ll 
 start heading back to the mall between 3 and 3:30 p.m.Note: This will be a
  walking tour with access to the public tram tour of the rest of the garde
 ns. There is a bit of a walk to get to the trams.THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS!
 Registration will begin Monday, April 27th on for all Amityville Public Li
 brary cardholders and Friday, May 1st for all non-Amityville Public Librar
 y cardholders. (if there is still room! You might want to call ahead of t
 ime to check!)*Note: On April 27th, each Amityville Public Library cardhol
 der can sign up themselves and ONE other Amityville School District reside
 nt. On Friday, May 1st, everyone is free to register.**Transportation waiv
 er required: Click here to sign/date the transportation waiver. Anyone who
  doesn't sign the waiver will be unable to get onto the bus.
