Adult Virtual Online Programs

In response to this coronavirus crisis, we are trying our best to bring virtual online programs to our community to help everyone cope with being told to remain in their homes. We here at the Amityville Public Library are trying to bring the library to you while we are unable to have programs in person. Here is a list of those virtual online programs we have set up so far and how to register for those programs. Come back to see what else we've added on! Stay safe and well!

Important Registration Information:  Some virtual programs require you to email us with the desired program title as the subject and your full name in the body of the email to sign up. When doing so, YOU MUST SEND A SEPARATE EMAIL FOR EACH PROGRAM YOU WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER FOR. This helps us to avoid confusion. Thank you!

Music with Matthew

Tuesday, July 20
7 to 8:30 p.m.
NEW-icon.png

Experience music like never before! With a taste of some of the twentieth century's most important musical movements, Matthew reinvigorates old songs with a new twist. The keyboardist starts off with a bit of ragtime-stride, and then on (pun intended) into the era of swing and boogie-woogie.  Then Matthew embarks on rock n ' roll frenzy, all the while explaining the history and icons behind the movement.  Continuing the performance into the style of New Orleans piano, a style with roots steeped in boogie-woogie, gospel, classical, international, and funk, the band takes a slower approach to the blues. He possesses the unique capability of expressing complex ideas and delivers deep emotional understanding of the musical landscape. Matthew transforms the musical experience by giving the listener more ways to relate to and understand the music as well as breaking the barrier between the artists and the audience, making the performance a more personal and interactive experience. Do you want to have an unforgettable experience?  Then join Matthew and become one with the music.  This interactive experience should not be missed by all aficionados of good music and a soul!

To register: Email us at adult@amityvillepubliclibrary.org with “Music with Matthew” in the subject line. When registering, please include your full name in the body of the email. We will email you the Zoom registration link.
