Adult Virtual Online Programs

In response to this coronavirus crisis, we are trying our best to bring virtual online programs to our community to help everyone cope with being told to remain in their homes. We here at the Amityville Public Library are trying to bring the library to you while we are unable to have programs in person. Here is a list of those virtual online programs we have set up so far and how to register for those programs. Come back to see what else we've added on! Stay safe and well!

Important Registation Information:  Some virtual programs require you to email us with the desired program title as the subject and your full name in the body of the email to sign up. When doing so, YOU MUST SEND A SEPARATE EMAIL FOR EACH PROGRAM YOU WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER FOR. This helps us to avoid confusion. Thank you!

December Book Discussion:
Enchantress of Numbers by Jennifer Chiaverini
Wednesday, December 23
10:30 - 11:30 a.m. via Zoom

The only legitimate child of Lord Byron, the most brilliant, revered, and scandalous of the Romantic poets, Ada was destined for fame long before her birth. But her mathematician mother, estranged from Ada's infamous and destructively passionate father, is determined to save her only child from her perilous Byron heritage. Banishing fairy tales and make-believe from the nursery, Ada’s mother provides her daughter with a rigorous education grounded in mathematics and science. Any troubling spark of imagination—or worse yet, passion or poetry—is promptly extinguished. Or so her mother believes.
