Event Details
Come with us to New York Botanical Garden to channel the spirit of the ’60s at Flower Power, a joyous celebration of the enduring symbolism of flowers as icons of peace and love. Immerse yourself in a groovy and colorful flower show spotlighting the ways in which hippie culture advanced closer relationships with the natural world, and explore vibrant botanical displays. NYBG’s galleries will showcase photography and visual art from the 1960s, while installations on grounds invite all of us to “come together” and be empowered to embrace flowers as symbols in our own lives. After our guided tour and walking the grounds on your own, we’ll head over to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx (also known as “Little Italy”) for lunch on your own plus shopping at the various shops nearby. We’ll start heading back to the mall between 3 and 3:30 p.m.
Note: This will be a walking tour with access to the public tram tour of the rest of the gardens. There is a bit of a walk to get to the trams.
THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS!
Registration will begin Monday, April 27th on for all Amityville Public Library cardholders and Friday, May 1st for all non-Amityville Public Library cardholders. (if there is still room! You might want to call ahead of time to check!)
