Library book drops

Can’t make it during library hours? No worries! Our book drop makes returning items easy and convenient. Just keep in mind: items due that day are considered late if returned after closing, and fees may apply.

Need to power up your device? Our charging station is conveniently located on the library’s main floor and is available for patrons to use while visiting the library.

Faxing

Fax Machine

To send a fax, visit the Circulation Desk—our staff will be happy to assist. Faxes are $1 per page, payable by cash or credit card. For credit card payments or double-sided faxes, use the black copy machine next to the scanning station.

Interlibrary Loan

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Our Reference Desk can help request it from another library. You can also request items yourself through our catalog from Suffolk County or as an “INN-Reach” hold from Nassau County.

Mobile Printing

Princh Mobile Printing
With our new Princh service, you can print from your computer or mobile device—anywhere! Submit your documents online, then come to the library to release and pick them up during open hours. Printing fees still apply.

Museum Passes

Museum passes can only be checked out and reserved by an Adult Amityville Public Library patron whose card is in good standing. Please ensure your Library card is up to date and free of fines so that you can check out the pass you have reserved. There is a limit of 1 pass per family.

Notary

The library has two notaries on staff; please call ahead for availability. Paperwork must be completed beforehand, and documents must be signed in the presence of the notary. Effective 1/1/26 - The first two documents are free; each additional document is $2. Cash only.

Photocopying Machines

We have one color and one black-and-white copier on the main floor. Color copies are 25¢, and black-and-white copies are 10¢. All machines can handle double-sided and legal-size copies.

Public Computers

Patrons have access to the Library's 14 public computers (12 Adult Reference computers and 2 Children's Department computers). The computers include: Internet access, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and databases subscribed to from the Library.

Scanning

Need to scan documents? Our Scan to Email/USB station is conveniently located on the main floor, directly across from the adult public computers. Scan documents to your email or save them to a USB drive—scanning is free.

Social Worker

Our social worker interns are available from September through May. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended. Please contact the library for availability.

Wi-Fi

Stay connected! Our free library Wi-Fi is available to all patrons. Passwords are posted around the library, or just ask the Reference Desk for help.
