Program Description

Event Details

Join us this April to meet local author Cherelle Payne as she discusses her book Nothing Special About Ed. Her book is both a memoir and a roadmap—a resource for parents, teachers, and advocates who want to understand the special education system from the inside out and ensure every child gets the strong start and fair chance they deserve. Through basketball courts, college classrooms, and a 20-year career as a New York City Corrections Officer, Cherelle shows us that learning differences don’t limit your potential—other people’s expectations do. Book giveaways and Q&A included.
