Summer Candle with Curiously Creative Candles

Create your own candle using a variety of colors and scents. The simple fun process of layering dry wax granules can create different patterns like an ombre, quilted or tie-dye or cascade. No two candles come out the same and it's a lot of fun!

Qigong (pronounced chi kung) is an ancient Chinese form of exercise that is similar to tai chi. You will be introduced to the 18 Lohan Hands — a fluid, dance-like moving meditation handed down from the Shaolin Temple. Qigong helps reduce stress and anxiety, increases strength and flexibility and lifts your spirit! Please have a mat and water with you.

FCA’s Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Program offers free assistance and support to caregivers who are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias. We are funded by the Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands Program from Parker Jewish Institute for Healthcare and Rehabilitation. We support our families by offering care consultations by our licensed professionals in our support groups.

Nassau-Suffolk Hospital Council’s Medicaid Enrollment assistants will be in the library to provide Medicaid enrollment assistance to adults and children who are disabled or blind, and anyone over the age of 65. Western Suffolk BOCES offers Home Study Programs for High School Equivalency preparation and English Language skills. You must be 21 or older to enter the program. A minimum score is required for the English Skills program. Benefits of the program include: work at your own pace, pick up work at convenient locations including libraries, you can use passed Regents exams and passed TASC exam subtests towards GED subtests.
